The Olympus OM system was one of the first systems to successfully bridge the gap between amateur and professional.
The OM2 was introduced in 1975 as an update to the already popular OM1, the camera was much the same, but featured an auto exposure system, enhanced metering and a TTL flash capability.
Backed by a vast array of lenses, winders, flash units and other accessories that worked across the range the OM series became an immediate favourite for its flexibility and durability.
The cameras diversified into the 2 digit series OM10 / 20 etc for the aspiring amateur and the single digit series OM1 / 2 etc aimed more at the professional market.
This is probably one of the most successful and iconic camera systems ever manufactured and was the back bone of many pro photographers systems. With a wide choice of lenses it enables use on various projects and performs well with colour films.
