Polaroid SLR 680

Polaroid SLR 680-001

The Polaroid SLR 680 was introduced in 1982 and was designed as an updated version of the classic SX-70 of the 70's.

Built to use polaroids 600 series film it was the only SLR camera ever made for the 600 series film. It was re badged around the world with different numbers for different countries, but underneath all the cameras where the same.

It features sonar auto focussing, a 4 element 116mm f8 lens which was, unusually for Polaroids of this age, made of glass . There is a manual focus over ride and a built in flash which tilts to match the focussed distance of the camera.

The 600 series was arguable Polaroids biggest success in its film packs and it produced many variations of cameras that used this packfilm.

The 600 series was the top of the range and today can still produce images of surprising sharpness and clarity whilst style retaining that great Polaroid look.

The film is unfortunately no longer available in its true form, but it operates on any of the PX films now manufactured by Impossible Project.

A real classic camera from the 80's, it looks a product of the times, but under neath the slick 80's design there is still an incredible camera.
